In contrast to "Modern Equipment Shooters" like Compound, we do not use any sights, stabilizers or other technical aids. We, the traditional archers, use wooden bows and arrows with natural feathers. Themed "live and let live", we shoot side by side with compound shooters at tournaments- no problem!

We favour the traditional equipment, because it`s much easier, more uncomplicated and furthermore it`s just more fun. Beside the aesthetic value, our longbows, flatbows and recurves are extremely efficient. We actually have advantages compared to sight-shooters on a bowhunt (prohibited in europe).

But by simulating a hunt we keep the tradition alive. At field archery tournaments we shoot at an average of 30 targets a day. Each of them in a different, unknown distance.

It`s similar to a golf tournament: a group of contestants walks from one target to the next.
